How early should I arrive to the river before my trip is scheduled to depart?

Customers are required to show up no later than 30 minutes before their scheduled departure time to receive equipment and instruction. We recommend arriving at least 30-45 minutes before departure to make sure you have all your equipment, have signed waivers, are dressed appropriately, watched our safety video, have time to grab beverages, snacks or ice and don’t feel rushed before your departure.

What should I bring for my trip?

We recommend bringing sunscreen, a change of dry clothes, a towel and old shoes if you plan on getting wet. We have dry box rentals available to protect phones or other water sensitive valuables.

Can I bring a cooler?

Coolers are welcome! While we don’t have a policy to check coolers, White Rock does reserve the right to inspect coolers and other bags taken on a river trip.

We strongly discourage the use of alcohol in any of our rental watercraft. We love sober paddlers and expect all guests to operate their watercraft in a safe manner and to observe all laws related to the activity. Remember, laws prohibit the operation of any watercraft while under the influence of alcohol or illegal drug, or any intoxicant, narcotic, prescription medicine, or other drugs which would impair a guest’s ability to use, operate, navigate or ride in a watercraft or vehicle.

Finally, in the event a guest or participant appears to be intoxicated, White Rock reserves the right to turn away or end the river trip of any guest at any time.

How does this operation work?

Arrive at White Rock an hour before your trip departure. Upon arrival you’ll be checked in and fitted with a lifejacket before being transported to your launch location. From there enjoy the river before stopping by the office to return your lifejacket and check out our shop. Our staff will take care of your boat and equipment.

Can I bring my own boat / equipment?

You can bring your own PFD’s, but you can not bring your own boat.

How many people are allowed per canoe?

Each canoe holds 2 paddlers (we require 1 to be an adult) and can carry a child rider age 5-10 in the middle for a total of 3 passengers.

What is the minimum age that you can ride a canoe?

For safety reasons, nobody under the age of 5 is permitted to ride in a White Rock boat. Ages 5 and up can paddle, however we require all boats to contain a responsible adult. Ages 5-10 can also sign up to be middle riders in a canoe. Kayak paddlers must be at least 12 years old.

What is included when purchasing a canoe or kayak trip?

Every paddler receives a reserved spot in a boat, a paddle and a PFD. Child middle riders will not receive a paddle. Each boat will come with a reusable mesh bag for any trash you might have or find along the river. Additional dry boxes are available for rent to protect your phone or other valuable items.

Do you offer corporate floats or excursions?

Yes, we do! Please call us at (260) 330-4140 or click here to reserve your group.

Are pets allowed on the trips?

What if I miss the boat ramp to get out?

Don’t miss the boat ramp! If you do please call us immediately, it’s not a fun time. But don’t worry, we have instructions prior to every trip, indicators along the river and employees on the shore to make sure you don’t miss it.
